Westgroup Designs partnered with Brascia Builders through a Design-Assist approach to modernize the 1,600 SF Central Sterile Processing and Decontamination Department at Glendale Memorial Hospital & Health Center. The project included replacing two existing sterilizers, coordinating mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structural upgrades, and updating ceilings, lighting, flooring, and interior finishes to accommodate new equipment and improve the department’s functionality.
To maintain uninterrupted hospital operations, the team also coordinated a temporary sterile processing trailer, including utility connections, site logistics, and phased construction. Early contractor collaboration, field investigations, and constructability reviews helped resolve complex existing conditions, minimize disruptions, and maintain the project schedule while ensuring critical sterilization services remained operational throughout construction.
