For more than 85 years, Pasadena City College’s iconic Mirror Pool has served as the civic heart of the campus, anchoring its historic Colorado Boulevard frontage and shaping the institution’s public identity. As part of PCC’s Centennial Year celebrations, Westgroup Designs is honored to lead the renovation of this landmark space, restoring its timeless elegance while reimagining it for contemporary student life.
Spanning over 9,000 square feet and 200 feet in length, the Mirror Pool has long stood as a symbol of formality and tradition. The renovation preserves its historical character while introducing modern upgrades that enhance functionality, sustainability, and campus engagement.
The revitalized Mirror Pool will feature:
Surrounding improvements will include drought-tolerant landscaping, refreshed hardscape, and site furnishings that encourage wellness, reflection, and outdoor study. New lighting and flexible gathering spaces will support both everyday student use and major public events, including the annual Pasadena Rose Parade.
This transformation of PCC’s most iconic outdoor space reflects WDs’ commitment to honoring legacy while designing for the future—enhancing campus identity and creating enduring places of connection, pride, and purpose.
