Built in 1904, the “Jose Theater” is a designated City of San Jose Historical Landmark. Following its original renovation in 2003, the theater was developed as an Improv and decades later, was in need of a refresh.

We created a classic but edgy new appeal. From the entry, with its high impact first impression for patrons, the theatre lobby is finished with Carrara marble flooring, plush carpet, deco-inspired lighting and custom wrought-iron railings that match the design of the exterior balcony railings, to connect the interior to the exterior aesthetic.

Moving through the mezzanine and into the Theater, new flooring, wall, ceiling and furniture finishes create a modern club appeal while paying respect to the history of the building and it’s century of entertainment memories.

This 20,000 square foot venue in the heart of Milwaukee, at the upscale The Corners of

Brookfield center, features multiple Show Rooms and lounges, with a distinct industrial

chic vibe that is packed for every show since it's official opening in 2021.  Featuring a

24-foot long Skyfold wall which opens to join the two showrooms, this venue seats up

to 500+ patrons for large shows and special performances.

Custom booth design with a distinct curve allows for optimal stage viewing as well as

socializing, and the decorative wall panel design conceals substantial acoustic system

to optimize the vocal and music experience.

With the IMPROV iconic brick wall on stage and at key areas, paying homage to the long

history of the brand, the facility is appointed with state-of-the-art entertainment systems and

technology, often concealed behind and above finish materials.

Folding glass wall panels wash the dining room with light, and open to integrate outdoor dining and walk-up service bar areas.

A private dining room features direct kitchen access and is fitted with simple detail, also enhanced with natural light and access to the outdoor patio.

The kitchen is a model of efficiency and simple function, while smartly finished in a bright palette of white and grey for low maintenance and the occasional tour from the proud Executive Chef. As WD shares this vision for service and creation of an exceptional experience, we transformed an old, vacant 35,000 square foot, tilt-up warehouse shell into a collaborative, flexible and dynamic new headquarters to be both beautiful and functional, with a testimony to efficiency. From its infrastructure engineering supporting a commercial laundry and full-service, round-the-clock kitchen, to fitting the entire facility with Solatube daylighting, paired with the latest LED illumination, both the building itself and interior space accommodate future development of the company’s abundant business goals. Coming from an ineffective environment which hindered productivity and progress, the organization of the new facility encourages effortless connection between the client spaces, feature display, tasting, and work rooms, corporate office, support and social areas, production warehouse space, and immense 10,000 square foot commercial kitchen.

Balancing a mid-century modern aesthetic with a comfortable, contemporary style and high technology, the character of both client and staff spaces reflect the imagination and creativity of the event design business, with attention to detail, originality and whimsy, illustrated in smart combinations of finishes, materials, textures, patterns, color and graphics. The new design developed for the legendary Improv comedy club debuted last month in Raleigh, North Carolina, to rave reviews and sold out performances! Guaranteed to entertain and excite the senses, this is the first of many locations for the iconic venue with the immersive experience which allows guests to be treated as though they are the performer, complete with back stage style details. Many know the Improv from its signature iconic red brick wall at the stage, from the first Improv established in New York City, 1963, by Budd Friedman.

Sophisticated technology and efficiency are disguised behind unique architectural details, lighting and materials. An urban industrial aesthetic integrates the “dark and gritty cool” vibe of both the NYC and Hollywood Improv, with the original roots, to maintain an intimate experience for up to 500 guests per show, continuing the excitement with a well-appointed bar and lounge for post-show entertainment and a secondary stage for new comics to test out their best material!

We’re going even further beyond for the next venue! Westgroup Designs continues their partnership with Levity Live, to bring this new concept to Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 2020. The 13,000 + square-foot premium entertainment venue will include three live performance stages, 2 separate expandable showrooms for flexible size events, with full food and bar service, plus a spacious lounge, setting the Improv further apart from its competitors. With seating for more than 112, guests are treated to a substantial menu of eclectic offerings from tofu to beef, while they socialize in leather banquettes, surrounded by the whimsy of hanging plants and brass trimmed fixtures and accessories. The oak plank with glass stair railing, ascending to secondary storage areas, becomes an architectural feature framing the rear of the space. The visual balance created with the right mix of industrial and traditional styles opens up many opportunities for this unique eatery to continue pushing the boundaries of gratifying gastronomy. Beast and Bounty is located in the center of the Midtown Sacramento food scene at the Ice Blocks.

Hugo Boss breathes modern design, be it in their clothing, furniture or architecture. A classic menswear brand in the 1970’s, Hugo Boss has evolved into an international brand for both men and women. Based in South Coast Plaza, one of the most prestigious shopping centers in the nation, this 6,000 sf Hugo Boss store needed a comprehensive revamp to clearly communicate their brand message.

We knew that the interior design needed flares of modernity and sophistication only appropriate for reputation of the Hugo Boss name. Long, strong lines and sleek edges served to highlight the clean, luxurious essence of the store while still maintaining an air of elegance. Our strategic placement of lighting harmonized with the image of modern architecture.

The design resulted in a clean and defined space, built specifically to spotlight luxury quality design workmanship of fashion, shoes and accessories.
